Description

Jalapeños get their name from the city of Xalapa in the Mexican state of Veracuz, where they were originally produced. These large and fleshy chili peppers are used extensively in Latin American cuisine due to their relatively mild flavor.

Jalapeños that go through a process of smoking to dry them are known as chipotle chiles.
